Port speed are equal and I've double checked the other parameters. I set ACLog's interface to match the address of the radio (A2) which I made sure was programmed in the radio's USB address.

#Icom ci v interface usb driver
I installed the latest driver from Icom, which I know works as it's the same driver used by my IC-7600. (I have tested through the CIV port successfully.) The platform is Windows 10 Home with all the latest updates. The configuration is attempting to use the USB port control. "PortName' cannot be set while the port is open. Object reference not set to an instance of an object. It seems that the message sequence indicates a software-driver problem with the following error message sequence: - A device attached to the system is not functioning. I have tried all the options suggested by Scott to no avail.

I also will post a query about the port applications to the rig support page if I cannot locate the information in the manuals after one more look.

Tomorrow I plan to try the CIV interface I have and see what happens. I have searched the rig’s documentation and cannot locate specifics on how the two ports are allocated (I’m still researching). The lower numbered COM port is the one the programming software uses. The IC-7600 interface works fine (same driver). I used a desktop running Windows 10 64bit.
